Purchasing local solar energy
Henningsen has been purchasing electricity and gas from Scholt Energy since 2019. Together, they were looking for options to make the electricity consumption more sustainable. Henningsen specifically chose a local energy producer for solar energy.

According to European regulations, a digital Guarantee of Origin is created for every sustainably produced megawatt hour (MWh) of electricity. This supporting document ensures that all green current can be relayed back to the production installation and location.
Solar Valley generates solar energy with solar panels on the roofs of commercial buildings. Scholt Energy purchases the Guarantees of Origin (GOs) associated with Solar Valley's solar energy production and connects these GOs to Henningsen in Waalwijk.
“With the realisation of solar installations of Solar Valley, almost the entire roof is utilised, regardless of the company’s consumption. This extra generation-capacity is shared at a fee with other companies, such as Henningsen. Sharing locally generated green energy is super-efficient and makes the contribution to the energy transition at company level tangible and insightful. This work method is very valuable to the local community.”
Sustainable connection
Due to the sustainable connection, Henningsen's electricity consumption is covered for several years by the GOs of local solar energy. Scholt Energy takes care of the contractual connection between the two parties and the purchase of the GOs. Long-term purchasing of green electricity from a production installation of your choice is possible by means of a sustainable connection.
